The Dragon's General Manager Kurt Stack placed a call to the team Manager Ben Stanley.

"Did you see the after game interview with Bryson?"

"I did."

"They have a double header in Detroit. Should be a good time to eliminate Bryson."

"We're in the playoffs, Kurt. Have faith in the team to take us all the way. We don't have to resort to these tactics."

"Make it happen or find another job."

Jolene was fed up with all the publicity Paige was receiving from her performance. All the trade rags were raving about Paige Cartwright's performance. ‘Elegance personified,’ one reporter wrote. ‘Grace, beauty, intelligence all wrapped in one,’ another said.

Jolene pushed the paper into her locker, then turned to Carin and stated, "Not one mention in the paper. All of them wrote about her."

"Calm down," Carin whispered to her roommate. "Your chest is heaving like you just completed a four mile run. You've been warned about your temper."

"All I need is one shot at the lead. I know I can out shine her."

"Remember a few weeks ago when Bryson showed up?"

"Yeah, what about it," Jolene snapped as she continued to dress for rehearsal.

Carin reached into her locker. "Take a look at this." She pushed a button on her tablet then gave it to Jolene.

Jolene looked at the picture, then back at Carin. "And?"

"Look at the picture. That looks like Paige to me."

"So?"

Carin rolled her eyes. "You need Paige distracted, right? These sport reporters are offering money for the name of the woman in the picture. They are pounding the streets trying to identify her. What do you think will happen if suddenly rehearsals are interrupted by reporters trying to get to Paige? You know how the director feels about the spotlight being on one of her performers instead of the troupe."

Jolene looked at the picture again. "Hmm, you may have something there. Let me marinade on that for a minute."

Carin shrugged. "The way I see it, you can come out a few thousand in the good and be rid of your arch nemesis all in one swoop."

Jolene gave the tablet back to Carin. "That might not be a bad idea." The two grinned, then closed their lockers.

"Did you see the latest tweet on you and Jarrett?" Victoria asked as they dressed.

"You know what my Grand’Mere says? To enjoy life you have to let all the marbles in the jar out." Paige smiled as she continued to dress. "If you don't, you just might miss the one marble that will change your life."

Victoria raised an eyebrow at her friend. "You know what my grandmother says? If you keep looking through rose colored glasses, you will miss the devil lurking beneath the soil of the roses."

"That doesn't sound very positive."

"Everything in life isn't positive, Paige. There is evil in this world." Just as she said that, Jolene and Carin walked by them. "As much as you and" Victoria looked around to be sure no one would over hear them - "you know who, want this search for you to disappear, someone is wanting the money that is being offered just as bad.
